hearing ye perform this [can't tell me nothin] reminds me how crazy i went over it when it came out.. then this reminds me how someone was telling his album was "aight" i replied 'that album was great'. I think we forget after the radio has played out the artist single's how hot the records are when they drop. ooo they so sensative
it bugs me sometimes, but i just remind myself how hype i was when i first was listening to the singles, then apply them to the rest of the tracks on the album. All in all the album was awesome, "can't tell me nothin" and "stronger" were CRAZZZZZY and guys stronger was not as easy as you think it was.. refer to the video on my myspace about that..
just a little venting i had to do.. lol but just keep in mind how good you felt when you first hear a single, give it that same appreciation after the album drops and the song has been played out bc you wanted to listen to the radio all day!

H.E.R. I feel your pain. All my niggas hated on Kanye so bad. Hatin on his album. They hated Stronger. Im like "This song is genius" I hate when ppl diss GOOD muzik. It really erks me. Idk tho, F it. O yea, The crowd went crazy when that GOODLIFE dropped.

Graduation was a classic.. Dude spits with so much heart/passion.. If you don't like the album, your not a fan of good music.. Just because he don't rap about killin and sellin, doesnt mean hes wack..
But maybe some people can relate to that kind of music.. I can't.. I like speakin japanese and shoppin in Tokyo... Get on my level..
dewitz: most people that purchase cd's cant relate to its content since its mostly surburban kids that actually buy the cd's right?

oh and i dunno about anyone else, but i'm still bumpin' stronger as much as when i first heard the snippet over the summer. ever since i started listening to it when i run, ive never felt so inspired to not stop lol
I highly disagree with you in the fact that most people cant relate to music they buy(thats why they buy it)... Thats the difference between..say Nas and Jay? Maybe they can't relate word for word, but in general they do.. or atleast feel the struggle.. But 95% of the people can't relate to being shot 9 times, and shootin people and what not... even pac didnt rap about killin folk like these clowns now a days who try and sell a record.
Anyways, my point is that most people can relate more to Kanye than say 50. and thats why kanye will have longevity in the game, as apposed to ja rule/ i mean Curtis, whos style gets played out.. and his album was classic...
like when i say relate, i mean it in the literal sense.
im just going on the fact that most buyers don't partake in the activities of the highest selling artists. yeah there are cats that purchase cds that completely understand the scenario painted within the music and even partake in 'em but the majority of cats that buy don't fully comprehend whats being said, but nonetheless like/appreciate it musically.
not everyone buys music cuz they relate to it, like i'll buy an r&b cd and not be in love in my life or a 50 and never have lived within a proximity of the lifestyle he portrays yet i'll bump it to death
oh and again i stress that this whole "dont relate to the music" thing is going from the assumption/urban myth that its mainly young kids from suburbia town usa thats purchasing
