(Covers my face with my Dodger fitted). Joey, Joey, Joey, wow this record is bangin. I not gonna even lie, I have not listened to any of the Mood Musik mixtapes, but now I think I better go find some of those tracks. Why this dude did not get a 2nd album with Def Jam is beyond me.

And your boy Rik hooked it up. One of my favorite parts of the video the 360 shots he got of Joe while's he was rhymin'. The shots look so raw, it made it look good.

I truly hope the "Directed by Rik Cordero" is not on the final edit for adds to BET, MTV, Much Music, etc.

A little too early for that.

That is because you are not a part of the video music industry my dear. The Commish's are going to frown on that. I know it's ignorant, but it's truth.

It's a long hard road left to travel for Rik.

Just like the music industry:

Who you know > Talent

Anonymous,

Thank you for the advice and I definitely feel where you are coming from in terms of the politics of the video music industry. This work to me is much more than a "directed by" credit. I stamp it because because I embrace exactly where it's viewed, online. The broadcast video game is a long hard road to travel and it seems like the suits have been more confused about what's going on with online video content rather than embracing it. Honestly, I really do this, more specifically, Hip Hop music videos because it's art to me. Art for the sake of art. Times are changing, technology is changing and the days of pleasing the labels and networks are slowly dwindling because of the vast amount of online viewership. Like the music industry, there are hungry renegade filmmakers, like myself, who create by any means necessary and do it for their artists. Does that limit my accessibility to the Commish's? Probably, but they won't be the only ones. Because the marketing concepts and guerilla attitude we're bringing to the table are spanning across marketing partnerships and corporate sponsors right now. The video game isn't all about "work for hire", it only appears that way because that's what the public is conditioned to seeing, the same videos over and over again. And once the labels do figure it out, however, they will be struggling to pay carnotes and maintain their lifestyle while we'll be light years ahead, giving our artists what they need: A visual + marketing support system. Peace.
